Mali Mae shares personal new single ‘Making Me Cry’

London artist Mali Mae has released “Making Me Cry”, a new alternative-pop single centred on family expectations, self-doubt and the fear of disappointing the people closest to you.

The track combines acoustic and electric guitar, bass and piano with a vocal performance that grows in intensity as the song develops.

Mali, a classically trained violinist and graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, uses the release to move further towards a more emotionally direct style of songwriting.

“Making Me Cry” will form part of her forthcoming five-track EP YOU’RE JUST MAKING ME CRY, a project focused on using music to process experiences that can be difficult to express in conversation.
