New Release: Yasin Hazim shares 'THROUGH THE SUN'

Yasin Hazim releases his latest album ‘Through the Sun’ a heartfelt story of separation, connection and what it means to belong.

Brooklyn based artist Yasin Hazim releases his album ‘Through the Sun’. A 10 track collection of deep and organic house beats.

Drawing influences from his family’s story, his own multi generational experience of immigration through Africa, Europe and the United States & the years spent in club & underground spaces all over the world to craft this album: a heartfelt story of separation, connection and what it means to belong. But with the concise characteristic of the saxophone element, it's also representative of the whole album.

The lead track from the album, ‘There’s Only Staying’ is all about going back to his roots,

"It's that rush, that moment you know you have to leave, there's no going back. Life is a never ending push forward and there's no other way than accepting that.”

Growing up around Paris, Yasin Hazim learned about music through both his classical music training at the conservatory & his family's Moroccan & Algerian roots. It's from those influences ranging from Leonard Cohen, Keith Jarrett & Jacques Brel to Gnawa music, Abdel Halim Hafez & Reinette l'Oranaise that he draws his own style, ranging from Blues to folk music, sly elements of R&B, to his own blend of psychedelic disco and beyond. Awash in waves of haunting piano lines and warm chugging drums, Yasin Hazim’s music is a departure of all that is pumped-up, instead drifting along a more circuitous river of melodic emotions and rhythmical movements, taking you on a heartfelt and personal journey.

Hazim has shows coming up in Miami, Tulum and NYC.
