After a five-year hiatus, British singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner makes a powerful return with 'Alright Alright Alright', the lead single from his upcoming eighth studio album 'OCTOPUS', due out September 19, 2025 via Cooking Vinyl.

Marking a striking evolution in both sound and identity, the track trades Faulkner’s signature acoustic stylings for gritty, distorted Hofner Violin Bass and a fearless sonic palette. “I was in the studio having more fun than anyone should be allowed to have at work and I didn’t give a f*ck what anyone would think of the track,” he says. “The fact that it’s now the first single of my eighth studio album is mind-blowing to me.”

The song also features vocal contributions from Ukrainian duo The Bloom Twins, who add what Faulkner describes as “a layer of ice cool surrealism” to the track.

'OCTOPUS' follows a period of deep reflection and reinvention for Faulkner, symbolised by the public cutting of his iconic dreadlocks during the finale of his 2024 tour. “This is about letting go,” he explains. “There is no part of this record that is trying to recreate anywhere I’ve been before… This is me, this is my head, this is what I love.”
