Newton Faulkner unleashes genre-bending new single 'Hunting Season' featuring Lissie & Los Bitchos

Following the bold reintroduction of 'Alright Alright Alright', Newton Faulkner dives deeper into uncharted sonic territory with 'Hunting Season', the second single from his upcoming album 'OCTOPUS', out September 19, 2025 via Cooking Vinyl.

Featuring a knockout guest lineup with psych-surf collective Los Bitchos and powerhouse vocalist Lissie, the track reimagines Faulkner’s folk-pop foundations with vibrant, rhythmic flair. What began as a Paul Simon–inspired co-write with Dutch songwriter Tessa Rose Jackson soon transformed into a groove-laden reinvention after a spontaneous studio session with Los Bitchos guitarist Serra Petale. “As soon as she started playing, I knew I wanted her to replace all of my guitars,” Faulkner recalls. “She straight-up smashed it.”

Lissie’s soaring guest vocals seal the deal, bringing punch and presence to a track that thrives on connection, creativity, and the thrill of rediscovery.
