REVIEW: Messy - 'Lonely'

LA based artist Messy has followed up his alluring single "Out for Blood" with bewitching new track "Lonely", a love song set to a shimmering pop melody.

Examining the highs and lows of being in love, perhaps not with the right person, "Lonely" is a rich amalgamtion of hip-hop, pop and R&B. Creating a shimmering soundscapes through the use of trill synths and dynamic drum beats as well as a pop infused guitar riff, Messy’s vocals add a texture to the song that is both welcoming and captivating.

Speaking to the songs meaning Messy explains, “it’s a song about a person you could see meaning everything to you, and not wanting to let the flame burn out too quickly”. Something that will resound with the majority of listeners, it is a most painfully relatable.

With ambition in abundance as well as a point to prove, Messy is a tenacious writer and performer, “I wanna be the biggest artist in the world, plain and simple. My family has my back and we’re not stopping till we get there".
