Swedish alt-pop artist RIVER returns with her most intimate release yet, unveiling new single 'Lost in the Ocean'. Accompanied by artwork from Gabriela Danerlöv and a visually arresting video directed by RIVER and shot by Peter Milanov, the track dives deep into themes of emotional escapism and fear of commitment.
Written as a reflection on the impact of her own choices, 'Lost in the Ocean' explores the cost of prioritising independence at the expense of connection. RIVER describes it as a confession, a reckoning with the ways relationships can become distractions in the search for identity and fulfilment.
Produced alongside August Vinberg, Johannes Henriksson, and Rickard Andersson, the song blends sparse cinematic production with dreamlike textures, drawing from dream-pop and alternative soul influences. The result is both delicate and immersive.
Following previous releases 'I AM CANCER' and 'Infected mind', the new single continues RIVER’s exploration of grief, identity, and radical self-examination.
