Ross Mintzer returns with aimless mystics, an album that blends heartfelt songwriting, modern electronic production, and global sounds into a truly immersive experience. Known for performing his electronic music live with saxophone, Mintzer balances intimacy with high-energy performance, creating a sound that feels both personal and expansive.
The album opens with “cosmic farewell”, an infectious dance-pop anthem with layered vocals and club-ready rhythms. Lead single “frequencies” moves from melancholic electronics into bright, bouncy EDM textures, complete with vocoder-style vocals and melodic twists that are unmistakably Mintzer. Across the record, tracks are emotionally resonant while remaining irresistibly danceable.
Inspired by Buddhist and Stoic philosophy, the album explores “aimlessness” and self-reflection, allowing curiosity and vulnerability to guide the creative process. Recorded mostly with a legendary Neumann U47 microphone, once housed in John Lennon’s Tittenhurst Park Studio, Mintzer’s vocals and saxophone feel warm, intimate, and alive.
Collaborations, including Italian producer Lorenzo Cosi, add further depth, stretching electronic music into fresh territory. With aimless mystics, Ross Mintzer cements his place as a forward-thinking artist, crafting a record that’s emotionally rich, sonically adventurous, and impossible to ignore.
