Yorkshire indie duo Seafret have unveiled their new single 'Driftwood', a powerful collaboration with acclaimed British singer-songwriter James Morrison. The track serves as the final preview of the band’s upcoming fourth album 'Fear of Emotion', set for release on March 27 via Nettwerk Music Group.
Written together with Morrison, 'Driftwood' began as what the band describe as an “end-of-the-world” concept, a reflection on the emotional weight that can come from witnessing global suffering, inequality, and unrest through constant news cycles. Rather than leaning into despair, the song evolves into a message of closeness and perspective, encouraging listeners to hold tightly to the people who matter most.
Following the BBC Radio 2 support for recent single 'Signal Fire', 'Driftwood' offers a poignant final glimpse into 'Fear of Emotion', a record centred on human connection, vulnerability, and finding meaning in uncertain times.
