London-born folk artist Seth Tabatznik returns with his sophomore album, 'Awakening Embers', anchored by the stirring focus track ‘Pacha Mama’, released via Moth Music (Mother Of The Heart). Having only begun releasing music in 2024, Seth has already made a remarkable impression on the indie folk scene, garnering support from CLASH Magazine and EARMILK, while amassing over 200,000 streams across platforms. His live performances, sold-out shows at Boschendal Estate in South Africa and Green Note in London, further cement his reputation as a captivating storyteller on stage.

Raised in London and now based in South Africa’s Western Cape mountains, Seth’s songwriting is steeped in both environment and introspection. His music blends the intimacy of acoustic folk with elements of medicine music, weaving tender harmonies, warm guitar textures, and spiritual themes into each composition. Mentored by Nick Mulvey and guided by early lessons from guitar teacher Rainer Scheurenbrand, Seth’s songs reveal a careful balance between technical skill and heartfelt authenticity.

'Awakening Embers' is a cohesive journey from start to finish. Opening with the tender hymnal ‘Dear Nature’, the album gradually unfolds into a rich tapestry of lyrical and melodic explorations, culminating in ‘We Are Walking Home’, which melds global influences with folk sensibilities. The centerpiece, ‘Pacha Mama’, epitomizes Seth’s craft: ethereal vocals drift over delicate guitar lines and steady percussion, while the shaker adds a grounding warmth.

The song’s narrative of transformation and reverence for the earth demonstrates his ability to fuse personal storytelling with universal themes, an approach that will resonate with listeners of Ben Howard, Blanco White, and Gregory Alan Isakov.

The album is complemented by immersive live experiences, including a performance at the Retreat Yourself Festival and an upcoming curated launch at Boschendal Farm, designed to envelop audiences in the record’s thematic world. With Awakening Embers, Seth Tabatznik proves himself a songwriter who channels place, purpose, and poetic insight into music that is both reflective and deeply human, a quiet but compelling force in contemporary folk.
