SexyTadhg returns this month with a radiant new single, Claim My Love, the latest track to be taken from their upcoming debut EP Sexy, due for release on September 10th.

It marks the next chapter in what has already been a whirlwind year for the Irish LGBTQIA+ artist. Since January, SexyTadhg has been riding a wave of success: supporting The Mary Wallopers on a sold-out UK tour, appearing on national radio across Ireland and the UK, and making their presence felt on television with live performances on The Six O’Clock Show and Síorstíl.

Musically, Claim My Love draws on big band jazz and theatrical pop to create a song that feels both euphoric and deeply rooted in live performance. Brassy swells, layers of keys, soaring backing vocals and a soulful rhythm section wrap around a charismatic vocal delivery that demands attention. It’s a song about boundaries and self-worth, but delivered with the bright energy of a dancefloor anthem.

Speaking about the track, SexyTadhg says: “No act of self love is more rewarding and fulfilling than setting personal boundaries and protecting your peace! Don’t you play with my emotions and then try to claim my love. It’s house, it’s disco, it’s bright, it’s beautiful—it’s a daily reminder that your mind, your personality, your vulnerability and you as a beautiful human being are precious and should only be held in the hands of those that value, understand and respect you.”

That blend of defiance, joy and theatricality runs throughout the upcoming EP. Sexy promises a journey through themes of sex, vulnerability, queer pride and the beauty of living openly in contemporary Ireland. One of the tracks, Ceannasacht, underlines Tadhg’s ongoing commitment to the Irish language and to pushing visibility for queer voices in Irish music.

Recognition has come quickly. SexyTadhg was recently named one of The Irish Times’ “50 to Watch” and received the Dublin Fringe Festival’s Radical Spirit Award. Their performances—whether with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, at Electric Picnic or Other Voices, or sharing the stage with Loreen and The Mary Wallopers—have helped cement a reputation as an artist capable of commanding the intimacy of theatre and the scale of a festival crowd.

With headline shows now booked in London, Cork and Dublin, and summer slots lined up at All Together Now and Beyond The Pale, SexyTadhg stands on the cusp of a breakthrough moment. The release of Sexy in September looks set to underline their arrival as one of Ireland’s most fearless and flamboyant new voices.
