Irish alt-rock outfit The Altered Hours return with ‘Turn Away’, a radiant shoegaze cut that blends vulnerability, texture, and raw immediacy into something deeply magnetic. It’s the latest glimpse into their long-awaited self-titled third album, now set for release on November 7th via Pizza Pizza Records.

Crafted in just two takes with producer Julie McLarnon (New Order, Lankum), ‘Turn Away’ distills the band’s instinctive chemistry, pairing shimmering guitars with vocals that refuse to hide. Lyrically, it plays out like a slow-burn film scene, with flickers of doubt and longing on a city street, suspended in reverb and dusk.

Channelling Frank Black & The Catholics, Stereolab and My Bloody Valentine, the track leans into comfort and spontaneity, capturing a band fully at ease in their sonic skin. It’s effortless, but emotionally rich, a sign that The Altered Hours aren’t just back, they’re evolving.
