With his debut album 'The Skin Of Time[, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN delivers a cinematic electronic statement that feels as indebted to storytelling as it does to the dancefloor. Released via ILINX Records, the 11-track project expands on the momentum generated by recent singles ‘Dance of Shadows’ and ‘The Heart of Fire’, showcasing an artist whose vision extends far beyond conventional club music.

Born in Yerevan and now based in Dubai, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN draws inspiration from literature, visual art, and science fiction, crafting productions that unfold with a distinctly narrative quality. Across The Skin Of Time, melodic techno, indie dance, and house converge into a richly textured world where atmosphere and emotion take precedence. The album’s conceptual framework explores themes of absence, transformation, and dissolution, inviting listeners into an immersive experience that rewards both close attention and late-night escapism.

Standout cut ‘When Everything Is Said’ encapsulates the record’s strengths. A collaboration with Italian producer Sasha Carassi, the track balances sweeping melodic architecture with understated club propulsion. Elevated further by Jonatan Bäckelie’s emotive vocal performance, it bridges the gap between introspective electronica and festival-scale euphoria, recalling the emotional resonance of artists such as RÜFÜS DU SOL and Ben Böhmer without sacrificing its own identity.

For a debut, 'The Skin Of Time' is remarkably assured. Rather than chasing trends, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN focuses on world-building, crafting a record that feels expansive, reflective, and deeply human. It’s an introduction that positions him as one of electronic music’s more intriguing emerging voices.
