When German outfit The Parlophonics released their spectacular debut LP 'A Day In The Life' in 2021, they quickly established themselves as one of the more adventurous names on the European folk-pop scene. Branching into new and unexplored territories for a multitude of offerings, they earned a solid reputation for alluring compositions in the months afterwards. Now looking to double down on their aesthetic, they return with their wondrous sophomore album 'Dying Of The Light', a record that looks to revive those original qualities.
Right from the very start, 'Dying Of The Light' looks to lure you in with its rich and enticing flavours. Matching more of that warm and dreamlike atmosphere they first emerged with on top of a more progressive ideal throughout, their newest collection throws caution to the wind in pursuit of a more innovative and compelling listen this time around.
But not ones to alienate their audience, 'Dying Of The Light' still has plenty of toe-tapping gems you can't help but sing along to. Treading a strong line between an inventive guise and something more accessible at every turn, they have this brilliantly captivating sound that has familiar tones but altogether feels distinctive to their own driven style.
