Toronto R&B group BLK shine on their new single 'Girls'. Working with producer Pops who is known for his work with Drake and Machine Gun Kelly, the trio blend elements of R&B, Pop and Hip-Hop to great effect.
Made up off three solo artists who came together: Bexk, Lilac X and Khatalia Korahjay, BLK's style of songwriting allows each member to shine while still remaining cohesive and hugely impactful. The new single 'Girls' is a female empowerment anthem packed with commercial appeal. Built around a simplistic bass, drums and guitar backing the track, the trios layered vocals are allowed to shine as the track ebbs and flows through verse's towards it's ear-worm chorus. Speaking on the new single, all three members gave heir interpretations: “The song is empowering, and it gives me a sense of community. We’ve all been there dealing with an ex, and this song lets girls know that the grass is always greener on the other side.” - Bexk
“You stand in your way. You had a chance, should’ve done better. My verse embodies you blocking your blessings within a relationship.” - Lilac X
“Sometimes food expires, sometimes men expire..either way, you have to throw the trash out. & that’s on ‘Girls’.” - Khatalia Korahjay
Having already earned widespread acclaim, it's easy to imagine BLK blowing up in the coming months.
