Stockholm songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Turnrivers returns with his new single 'Borrowed River Tune', out now via Slow Night Records.
The project of Karl Wännström, Turnrivers continues to carve out a sound rooted in intimate storytelling, warm harmonies and understated folk arrangements. Inspired by Americana and contemporary acoustic music, 'Borrowed River Tune' reflects on the strange afterlife of songs, and how melodies can outlive their creators and quietly attach themselves to new people, places and memories over time.
There’s a gentle, almost timeless quality to the track, transforming ordinary reflections into something quietly transportive. Wännström’s layered vocals and delicate instrumentation give the song a sense of closeness, while its themes of memory and musical inheritance linger long after it ends.
Following several years spent refining his craft in Málaga, Spain, Turnrivers now returns to Sweden with a clearer artistic identity and a growing reputation for deeply personal songwriting.
