US Artist girl_irl Returns With Incredible New Single “sting” From New EP

Formally a touring DJ and an ongoing producer, girl_irl is one of the many aliases of Em Perlman. Making music that they dub “industrial pop” with inspiration from their diverse roots (MENA roots with an Atlanta upbringing), girl_irl explores all aspects of today’s sonic landscape, tapping into new genres and bringing a new sound with it, as can be heard on their electrifying new single, “sting”.

Despite only arriving on the music scene last year, girl_irl has already quickly surpassed half a million streams on Spotify alone thanks to tracks such as “sinclair” and “girlboss”, and they look set to add further to this tally with new release “sting”. Infused with an infectious upbeat energy, the self-produced track is another impressive entry into their growing discography. The single is taken from their newly released EP, world champ.

Speaking further on the new release, girl_irl says, “This song came together in the span of 48 hours as another cathartic emotional release in an attempt to reclaim who girl_irl is in retaliation to ill-intended people in the music industry and in day-to-day life. Inspired by video games I used to play when I was younger and a love for the ‘underdog narrative’, it feels like it came together in perfect timing. A huge reflection on when I learned the hard way that you can be kind and also have a spine!

“I love the idea of throwing curveballs in what I make, and with this project it feels really great to have something that packs more hits right off the bat instead of something that grows with more listens. All three tracks on this project feel like very different sides of my production skills.”

“sting” and the rest of world champ are available to buy/stream now on all platforms.
