Hamburg newcomer Welcome To Future has released 'P!T (Punk ist tot)', an energetic new single aimed at bringing guitar music and protest culture to a younger audience.
The 18-year-old artist combines forceful drums, distorted guitars and large vocal hooks with lyrics addressing political frustration, online passivity and the need for greater youth engagement. Although its title translates as “Punk is dead”, the track argues that the genre’s confrontational spirit can be reshaped for Generation Z.
Welcome To Future first gained national attention through an appearance on The Voice in Germany, where his performance reportedly prompted the programme’s first audience mosh pit.
He has since been developing his debut material with producer Peter Hoffmann, known for his work with Falco and Tokio Hotel. The resulting sound has been described as “Epic Punk Rock”, bringing together direct songwriting and widescreen alternative production.
'P!T' introduces the forthcoming EP 'Grenzen', which will address identity, climate concerns, social division and disconnection.
