Ya Tseen announces new album 'Stand On My Shoulders' with star-studded single 'Taste On My Lips'

Acclaimed multi-disciplinary artist Nicholas Galanin, better known as the force behind Ya Tseen, has announced the group’s long-awaited return with a new album titled 'Stand On My Shoulders', set for digital release on January 16, 2026 via Sub Pop.

The record promises to be a luminous, genre-fluid meditation on identity, land, and collective legacy, building on the artistic and cultural momentum of Ya Tseen’s 2021 debut 'Indian Yard'.

The first taste of the new era arrives today with 'Taste On My Lips', a shimmering, groove-laden collaboration featuring Portugal. The Man, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Sidibe.

“Taste On My Lips is a love note written for the dance floor,” Galanin shares, “inspired by connections made possible on those floors for generations.”
