Following the release of their latest single 'Forgotten One' we caught up with rock band We Are The Darts to find out what influences their eclectic sound. If you enjoy the bands picks be sure to check out 'Forgotten One' at the end of the article.
1. Silver - DMAs
"My favourite song from a criminally underrated band in the DMAs.It's an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, dragging you through feelings of sadness and loss at first, then elevating you to a crescendo of triumphant bliss with Tommy O' Dell's vocals hitting the sweet spot in the anthemic throw-your-fists-in-the-air chorus." - Shane
2. Oasis - Supersonic
"This song changed my life. I was a bit young when it first came out so came across it when I was an impressionable teenager trying to find my way in the world. It just spoke to me. The riff after the chorus sucked me in, it was like nothing I'd heard before. Along with the driving guitars and Liam Gallagher's twang, I was blown away. The world started to make sense and I had a band I was obsessed with. To this day nothing has really changed." - Brian
3. The Sunshine Underground - The Chemical Brothers
"The Sunshine Underground by The Chemical Brothers blows my mind to pieces when I hear it. It's amazing. It's artists operating on a completely different level. It shows that struggling over lyrics is for suckers, use meditative mantras. Two drops are better than one. Clocking in at 8 minutes 38 seconds it takes you on a journey you don't want to end. It's spiritual. It's music. It's psychedelia on steroids in a sun-soaked cave. The dayglow below. Whatever that means." - Stephen
4. The Enemy - We'll Live And Die In These Towns
"I could have picked any number of bands from the resurgent indie scene of the early 00s. Something about The Enemy’s debut album however holds a special place. It seemed to draw together the ethos of punk with the indie sound of the moment, while maintaining a strong sense of its own identity. I think no track sums up the resilience and energy of that moment more than title track ‘We'll Live and Die in These Towns’." - Izaak
5. Kasabian - Fire
"Fire is another song that really changed my outlook on music. I saw Kasabian support Oasis at Slane Castle in 2009 and they dropped a track 'Fire' which I hadn't heard before. The hill bounced that day. The song managed to perfectly blend rock'n'roll with the dance music I had started to listen to at the time. I saw them in Dublin again later that year and their upbeat anthems and live show cemented their place as one of my favourite bands." - Brian
