Their first release in over three years, Liverpool-based duo RUINS are back with their latest single ‘Low Postcards’. Looking to make waves across the synth-pop game, the group look forward to an exciting 2025 for their distinctive alt-pop sound.
The track starts with a vibrant drum machine, paving the way for a silky, though equally potent, vocal line to take center stage. The track paints its sonic canvas with a defiant array of melodic colours, bringing different textures, moods and atmospheres to the table before silky toplines carry the single forward into the chorus.
Speaking about the single, Lloyd from the band dives in, “The song is about fear: fear of being truthful; fear of repercussions; fear of losing something important; fear of change. Fear is tethered to anxiety; they inhabit possible worlds and manifest elemental power over our choices. I wanted to express this tension. It’s deeply personal yet universal, a reflection of something we all face when deciding whether to tell your truth, or not.”
