Emerging from Cork’s burgeoning music scene, experimental electronic-pop artist HANNAHBELLA has released her vibrant and multifaceted new single, ‘Skin’.
Journey through a rich genre-bending soundscape, the new Jessica Richardson producer single ‘Skin’ opens with swirling synths and choppy, off-kilter electronic beats, with Hannah’s elegant lead vocals dancing above, surrounded by well-placed harmonies. As the track progresses, it introduces a grinding, sub-heavy electronic bass while Hannah delivers a captivating spoken word chorus. The track closes with cut-up vocals glitching above fizzing hi-hats and swelling bass, creating an overall sound that is at once accessible and experimental, fitting perfectly between urban-tinted electronica and alternative pop.
HANNAHBELLA explains the inspiration behind ‘Skin’: “I wanted to create a haunting love song but ultimately I wanted it to be hot and sharp. I loved the idea of two spirits/souls being infatuated or intertwined with one another, so I ran with that in mind when writing the lyrics. Sonically, Jess (WhenTheBeatIsBad) and I wanted to keep in line with this theme, so we kept it minimal yet huge. When that fierce bass line was born, we were obsessed.”
Since beginning her musical journey in 2021, HANNAHBELLA has made significant strides, with her tracks featured on prestigious Spotify editorial playlists such as New Music Friday, Misfits 2.0, Breath of Fresh Éire, and Fresh Finds UK & IE, expanding her reach to a global audience. With acclaim across national press and radio, she continues to grow, picking up momentum and building a feverish hype around her music.
