Hartlepool-based indie artist DAWKS has released his new single, “Arc De Triomphe" over the summer. The track marks a bold evolution from his earlier solo work, introducing a full-band dynamic that elevates his sound with layered instrumentation, soaring choruses, and emotionally resonant storytelling.

For this release, DAWKS collaborated with Ben Suggitt on drums, Matty Nicholson on bass, Milo Watson on guitar, and Sean McCloskey on acoustic, bringing a vibrant energy that is palpable throughout the track. Produced and recorded by Danny Blackburn at The Nave, “Arc De Triomphe” blends refined artistry with anthemic indie rock sensibilities, creating a song that immediately grabs attention and rewards repeated listens.

The inspiration for the track came from DAWKS’ time spent in France, where he reflected on the country’s beauty and its social challenges, drawing parallels to his hometown of Hartlepool. This contrast informs the song’s narrative, celebrating triumph while

acknowledging the struggles that make those victories meaningful.

“Arc De Triomphe” showcases DAWKS’ growth as an artist, highlighting his ability to craft memorable, emotionally charged music with his newly formed band.
