Emerging artist Sir Christopher Saint Releases Anthem “God Made Me Gay”

If there was ever a time to release an empowering, euphoric anthem, it's during PRIDE month. Luckily for us, rising pop singer Sir Christopher Saint has created just the song with "God Made Me Gay." Inspired by Sir Christopher Saint’s own journey to acceptance, “God Made Me Gay” is a deeply reflective and honest track pulling from the love and acceptance created out of the LGBTQ+ community and blended with Sir Christopher Saint’s dynamic vision for his artist project.

FLEX caught up with Sir Christopher Saint to talk about his new single.

Please talk us through the meaning of your powerful but super fun new single ‘God Made Me Gay’?

“God Made Me Gay” is a powerful statement reclaiming spirituality for all of us. In the song I say, “I’m an angel with a purpose, heaven made me perfect.” I want to remind anyone and everyone who’s ever felt disconnected from the infinite source of love that created them, that they were made perfectly with a purpose. In my own journey, I’ve had to overcome any systems or limited beliefs that denied and disconnected me from the true love within. Instead of hating who we are, it’s time to love who we are.

What is it about the song that made you want to make it your debut single?

“God Made Me Gay” is my mission statement. In many ways, it’s a declaration and celebration of myself and my truth. It’s representative of me just being able to stand in the fullness of who I am, without any apologies. I am now free to unapologetically be me, knowing that I am loved and was created in love.

Is there something that you learned about yourself while writing the song?

I learned and accessed a deeper sense of self-love while writing the song. I became more deeply connected to my purpose as an artist and how I’m introducing a renewed vision of love to the queer community. I got to reflect on the fears and traumas I experienced as a kid, who was so deathly afraid of coming out and being myself. I’m so glad that I can finally be me.

Do you have to be in a certain mood to write?

I can definitely be in a range of emotions, but most importantly, I have to feel inspired. Usually I’ll come to a writing session with something I want to say. My favorite feeling is when I’m in love and I just have to set up a writing session to create my next big love song.

Where do you live? What’s the music scene like?

I live in West Hollywood in Los Angeles. I love it. It’s super creative.

If there were three artists you'd like to collaborate with, who would they be and why?

Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton because they’re all iconic queens.

What’s the toughest part of the industry for you?

I think finding my voice has been a process and journey. There’s so much noise and distraction that it’s hard sometimes to stand in your truth. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve been able to really know the artist inside me and who I want to communicate out into the world.

What’s the most enjoyable part of the industry?

I always say that my greatest joy I get from making songs and music videos is being able to tell my own version of love and to share my own love stories. These are stories that are largely ignored from the mainstream, so to change that, it’s my job to tell them.

After someone is done listening to your music, what do you hope they feel?

Empowered and energized. I want them to feel love flowing through their veins. It’s the best feeling ever.
