Eugenia Post Meridian are a four piece outfit who are doing things a little bit differently. The Italian band burst back onto the scene no longer than a month ago with their single 'willpower', which has received the highest of acclaims and rightly so, as their sound takes influence from the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote and Christine and the Queens. Imagine a sound that sits in the middle of this, in a brilliantly off-centre approach to their craft.
They've wasted no time and have just released their second single from their upcoming album in 'around my neck' which is experimental pop personified. Starting with a raucous and fast paced percussion, the surf pop guitars then set the scene for an enigmatic and highly energetic, hook-filled track. They then switch the mood completely in the chorus, showcasing the bands sonic chemistry and highly intriguing direction as a band to easily invest in.
There's so much to love about Eugenia Post Meridian, and 'around my neck' even holds remnants of early Foals days, and that's reason enough for anyone to give it a spin. Look out for this exciting bunch before they pass you by.
