Following the introspective hush of her debut 'Duplicity', London-based artist Freya Magee returns with sharpened edges and wider eyes on 'Forget Yourself Not', a frustrated indie-pop lament for all the midnight soul-spillers who forget it by brunch.
Where her first release turned inward, 'Forget Yourself Not' casts its light on the murky space between vulnerability and performativity; those fragile, alcohol-soaked 2AM confessions that dissolve by daylight. Magee calls it “the whiplash of trying to hold people to their words when they can’t even remember saying them,” and that tension is sewn into every beat of the song.
Built on nostalgic synths, wiry guitars, and scattershot drums, the track elevates her diaristic lyricism to a new sonic height.
