Ever since she first emerged, New York-based artist ICEBERG has always been one to pursue a warm and riveting sound. Thanks to a flurry of enigmatic releases under her belt these last few years, she has developed a wonderfully rousing style to call her own. And now she looks to bring all that power and emotion under one roof with her sublime debut EP 'Swim'.
Featuring many of her previously unveiled singles from recent years, 'Swim' sees her channel a beautifully passionate ideal from beginning to end. Starting off with the outstanding title-track, each and every offering throughout this new collection adds another vital layer to her enigmatic aesthetic to date.
Keeping the production as stripped back as possible, she is able to elevate her beautifully warm and euphoric voice at every turn, leading to some brilliantly inspired moments.
It may have arrived after a number of years pushing the boundaries of her own direction, but 'Swim' is certainly more than worth the wait. Finding and developing such a dynamic sound is never an easy task, but ICEBERG is most definitely an artist we can expect a lot more from as the years move on as well.
