The London-based and Romanian-born indie pop artist Jewelia is back with her new and empowering single ‘Strong In My Own Way’. Featuring her signature sound of piano powered storytelling her vocal performance shines over the instrumental with feelings of defiance and melancholy. It’s a steady track that evokes huge amounts of emotion in the listener, culminating in a momentous climax of melody and harmony.
Jewelia’s distinctive sound has led to her seeing support from a long list of radio stations, endorsement from BBC Upload and BBC introducing as well as an array of Spotify placements. Her debut album ‘City Of My Mind’ was in the top three albums of the years on Cam FM Breakthrough in 2019. The track ‘Aquarium’ from this project was chosen as the official soundtrack of the award-winning mini-series, ‘13 Shades of Romanian’, which aired on Romanian television and was screened at prestigious film festivals in London, Rome and Los Angeles.
This new release from Jewelia comes in the lead up to her next major project, the album entitled ‘Little Wins’, which promises to continue this exciting sound and give us more great music.

Sometimes just getting up in the morning and pushing through with daily life takes heroic effort. Even when we feel tired, or anxious, or depressed, or we feel like we reached our lowest point, we are strong just because we manage to face the day, to be good people and do the best we can at the moment in time - and that in itself is a victory that should be celebrated.”
