TUNTUN isn’t just a project, it’s a vibe. Masked and mysterious, it’s the faceless alter ego of Nathan Jamal (also known as Roseland En Why Cee), giving him the freedom to play, experiment, and just let the music move him. His debut EP, 'TEXTURES', is a six-track whirlwind of raw energy, introspection, and UK Bass bravado, showing off a sound that’s as messy, playful, and alive as London itself.
From the first listen, it’s clear that Jamal isn’t interested in playing it safe. TEXTURES blends Jungle, Drum & Bass, Garage, and 2-step into a lo-fi, layered tapestry that’s chaotic in the best possible way. Mic’d-up instruments, clipped commentary, crisp drums, it all comes together like a sonic snapshot of the city streets, bustling, unpredictable, and buzzing with life.
Lead single “I Wanna Do” perfectly sums up the EP’s ethos: infectious UK Bass rhythms, subtle EDM touches, and vocal chops that feel spontaneous and fun.
“‘I Wanna Do’ tries to capture the feeling of the party taking hold over you,” says Jamal. “There's a tipping point where you lose yourself and become one with everyone, your only goal is to keep the fun going as long as possible.”
But it’s not all chaos, there’s nuance here, too. Glitchy textures, warped samples, and stuttering beats collide with warm, euphoric melodies, creating pockets of reflection in the middle of all the kinetic energy. Every track feels like it’s teetering on the edge between the dancefloor and the mind.
On top of that, TUNTUN is adding an extra layer of artistry with his limited run of “Texture Packs,” collaborative pieces with London artist Jaffar Aly. Each pack comes with unique sketches, found textures, and an NFC tag for instant streaming, a perfect physical companion to the EP’s tactile, playful energy.
TEXTURES announces a bold, unpredictable presence on the UK scene: messy, joyful, and alive in all the right ways. TUNTUN isn’t just making music, he’s making a world you want to step into, one beat at a time.
