Siena Liggins has had a whirlwind couple of years. She’s single-handily managed to place herself at the forefront of a new global music scene, gone on to share the stage with the likes of Lizzo, Doja Cat, King Princess, Baby Tate, Tkay Maidza, and Dreya Mac and gain coverage from important tastemakers. Liggins sees her music as activism amidst an inescapable Black, queer renaissance, and wants to knock down as many social barriers as possible.
Her latest single, “3 Bad,” is an irresistible new offering. The track features pounding drums, infectious synths and angelic backing vocals. On top, her lead vocals really shine through, coming tinged with autotune and working hand in glove with emotional lyricsm.
Speaking about the single, she says: “I wrote “3 Bad” peak breakup– rude texts, painful outbursts, a loss of patience entirely. It serves as a beginning of an end for my life and music unfolding right in front of you. I ask a backhanded, rhetorical question, “what’s more vulnerable than having sex?” Maybe someone will see that as introspective and someone else will resonate with my unhealthy coping.”
With her second full-length body of work "Floozy,” on the horizon, we cannot wait to see where she’ll take this.
