South London act Koates is back with new single 'Japanese Trees'

Receiving praise from Abbie McCarthy's BBC Introducing show, KOATES is back with brand new single 'Japanese Trees'. Combining effortless melodies with poised lyricism, the track was co-written and produced by Gary Go (Rihanna, Harry Styles). with mixing engineer of the year Dan Grech coming on board too. Speaking on the making of the video KOATES said, “Because Japanese Trees is about running away from all your problems, filling a void only to realise that no matter how far you go or how much money you spend on papering over the cracks you always return ‘home’ sh*t. There is a lyric in the song ’she says we should go East like the earth spins’ and so I did! I took €100 and saw how far I could go in 24 hours.” Moving towards a mature approach to songwriting, Japanese Trees is best described as exquisite.
