Alternative-rock quartet FAT SALAD shine on their latest release, 'Ecstasy', a bold and atmospheric track that brings together psychedelic rock and indie into one neat, catchy and musically inventive package
Produced by the acclaimed Natan Sterenfeld, known for his work with Usher, Faithless, Diplo, and Adam and the Ants' Dave Barbarossa, 'Ecstasy' captures a dynamic sonic journey. Opening with rippling guitar chords and subtle electronic textures, the track blossoms into a gripping, fuzzy guitar solo before a driving rhythm section of punching drums and warm bass enters.
The husky, compelling lead vocals take center stage during the swaying verses, drawing listeners into the track’s emotional core. As it builds toward the chorus, 'Ecstasy' picks up tempo, delivering an uplifting melody that drives the song to euphoric heights. The climactic second guitar break offers an explosive peak before the track retreats to an intimate, stripped-down finish. Reminiscent of acts like My Morning Jacket and early Kings of Leon, 'Ecstasy' is a glowing example of FAT SALAD’s potential.
“'Ecstasy' has long been a centerpiece of our live show, and I think we’ve really done it justice in the studio,” says lead vocalist and guitarist Aydan Godden. “There’s a depth and richness to the record that we hadn’t unlocked as a band until now. It’s a colorful explosion of love and beauty pinned down by glassy guitars and bouncy bass lines.”
