Ever had a song you couldn't let go of? Matt and Andrew Como have a few, and 'Whisper in the Wind' is partly the story of them going back.

'I Don't Like You' dates to around 2010, when Matt was writing in his dorm room and working out what kind of songwriter he wanted to be. Re-recorded for the album, it's the track he says has grown up alongside them. 'Make My Heart Move' was first cut at the Hit Factory in New York with Steve Jordan on drums, and has since been given a new groove and a reworked storyline. 'One & Only' goes back more than a decade, and the brothers say they changed the musical approach, added lyrics and reshaped the structure while keeping the heart of the original intact.

Newer ideas arrive from odd places. Matt wrote 'Living in This Moment' after watching The Beatles' Get Back documentary, a reminder of how much watching other writers work still feeds his own.

Alongside the brothers' writing sit co-writes with two collaborators who each have their own history. Joe Ragosta co-wrote Jelly Roll's 'Need a Favor' and lives close enough to the brothers that Matt first met him in a local bagel shop. Sam Woolf has been a friend since a 2014 show at Webster Hall.

The patience shows. These are songs that were allowed to take the time they needed. 'Whisper in the Wind' is out now.
