Tom Rasmussen delivers stirring dance-pop single 'Look At Me' with debut album 'Body Building'

Tom Rasmussen is one of the most eclectic and eccentric artists to breakout of the UK in recent times. Their debut album is a culmination of all the work that has taken them to this critical point, 'Body Building' is an insight into how Tom's highly strung musical and sonic mind works, and it's simply spellbinding.

Blending nuances of pop, dance and everything in between, Rasmussen takes a fun-filled brand of music but makes it an all inclusive and safe space for listeners and people who feel like they just don't fit in. Lead single 'Look At Me' is a real confidence booster of a track, which seems to perfectly embody everything that makes Tom Rasmussen such a fore to be reckoned with. It blends nostalgic piano-house with clever pop-woven melodies and hard-hitting but positive lyricism that is just impossible to turn full volume and blast.

"Body Building is the culmination of a decade thinking about what it means to be different to other people, but in a way so many people have felt too. It’s about grieving a part of you that has been taken by others, it’s about escaping violence, it’s about accepting — and attempting to thrive in — reality and not simply fantasy. It is the last time I want to talk about all the violence I’ve experienced in my life as a queer femme person. But never say never. It is dedicated to queer people and trans people everywhere."

'Look At Me' as well as the whole album, ensues the notion of feeling free no matter what you identify as. Coming off the back of a full uK tour supporting arguably the biggest pop star in the UK right now in Self Esteem, it's clear Tom is looking likely to be the next big thing in pop - and you must start with his stunning and vulnerably impeccable debut record 'Body Building'.
