Upcoming singer-songwriter Issy Winstanley releases new single "Losing My Mind"

Admin

Singer-songwriter Issy Winstanley has been working tirelessly to establish herself in the music scene, and that hard work hasn't gone to waste. Now a flourishing name, Issy combines heartfelt lyrics well a strong acoustic-pop canvas. Her lyrical melodies ebb and flow and help paint a picture of emotions and "Losing My Mind," her latest offering, is no different. Folky tones, soft buttery vocals, and loopy guitars are all in abundance on this record, once again showcasing her talent.

Speaking of the new song, Issy shares: "I wrote Losing My Mind when I was 17 – on a random lunch break in college where I’d snuck away to the music department to sit with my guitar and forget about everything else. I hadn’t intended to write any new music – but this is always when the best ones are written! This song is inspired by that tricky stage of a relationship where you start to feel priorities shifting, and you’re questioning whether you’re just going round in circles (to quote the bridge). Losing My Mind is one of my favourite original tracks to perform; I love getting audiences singing and clapping along – it’s the part of a set where I can bring my highest energy and let loose. I was so excited to be able to breathe new life into the track during production and take it to a place it hadn’t been before – working with my good friend & fantastic producer Shivan Mistry. Whether you’re in the same position as I was when I wrote this, or if you’re just in need of a soundtrack to your summer, I really hope you love Losing My Mind as much as we do.”

Issy is making ripples across the South West and Midlands as her career grows, with two BBC Introducing In The West 'Track of the Week' highlights and performances at iconic venues and festivals such as the Sunflower Lounge and The Hare and Hounds, Lakefest and Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Issy's debut EP is slated for summer 2022, following a sold-out release show for her breakthrough single. It is not one to be missed.
