Yassin Reimagines Previous Hit 'Take My Time' With Unplugged Version

A wonderful example of how an intricate understanding of music can add to an already striking release, Yassin returns with an intimate cover of his own single “Take My Time”

A song that is captivating from the first note, “Take My Time” makes use of a rich, textured instrumentation paired with a beautiful vocal performance to deliver a resounding message of love and affection. Yassin has expertly crafted a track that lends from traditional sounds and slower melodies than we have become accustomed to from the Canadian native.

Explaining why he has released a cover of his previous hit Yassin says, “The original Take My Time has been doing so well, and we've been getting such a great response from fans, that we thought we'd treat them to an acoustic or "Unplugged" version. This was supposed to just be for myself to put on the B side of some vinyls I'm giving to family and friends, but it turned out so pretty, both Sean and I knew we had to release it. I wrote this song about all my favourite moments shared with someone near and dear to me. To me, the original version captures the exhilarating nature of living out those moments, and this version about holding on to each precious second of them. Or to simplify the original is meant for people to dance fast, and this one is meant for slow dancing with your person.”

Yassin never sings on his own tracks, the reasoning behind this being that through matching vocalists to the vibe of the music itself allows him to weave in and out of various genres. This is something that the artist has done expertly for some time garnering impressive results and has since created a fantastic discography with a multitude of sounds.

A prime example of the artist's raw talent “Take My Time” is sure to find itself on repeat for some time to come.
