With his rework of Phil Collins’ “Another Day in Paradise,” Ben Hazlewood dissolves nostalgia into a raw and cinematic dream tableau. The New Zealand-born, New York based artist approaches the 1989 classic as a quiet confrontation: bridging empathy and nostalgia into a timeless modern twist.

Recorded in his apartment with a longtime collaborator, Hazlewood’s version feels both intimate and expansive, a world where tenderness hums beneath the noise. What's most striking about the project is the video - conceptualised in collaboration with Lulu Shing - building the track into a fever dream: tattoo artists, masked figures, and Hazelwood himself. Each scene unravels into an array of colour and experiment, a projection of everyday life reflected back in slow motion.

To Ben, “Another Day in Paradise” presents how small changes and an openness to new perspectives can create big impacts on the way we treat and love others. What’s more, “Another Day in Paradise” was first released in 1989, the same year Ben was born. Releasing this cover takes on a double meaning for the singer - as a full circle moment to his journey as a musician and artist.
